Volkswagen launches T-Cross Rock in Rio 2026 with exclusive look
The atmosphere is like a World Cup, but Volkswagen (also) has its eye on Rock in Rio and announces a special edition in honor of the festival. It is the first time that the model has received a package dedicated to the event, but the SUV had already flirted with the musical universe with the event's São Paulo sister, The Town. The price is R$142,990.
According to Volks, the proposal for the Rock in Rio edition is to offer a combination of different visual elements and equipment normally found in more complete versions of the line, expanding the content package available to the consumer. In other words, instead of offering the series in the most expensive configuration, it opts for the most affordable one, being derived from the 200 TSI.
The T-Cross Rock in Rio adopts exclusive details inspired by the festival. The SUV will be sold in four color options: Ninja Black, Sunset Red, Platinum Gray and Ascot Gray. In the last three, the bodywork is painted in two tones, with a roof painted in black.
One of the new features is the inclusion of the Ascot Gray shade, previously restricted to the Extreme version. The model also offers 17-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels with a blacked-out finish. Another difference is the tires equipped with Seal Inside technology. The system uses an internal sealing layer capable of minimizing pressure loss in cases of small punctures, increasing practicality during daily use.

The visual identity is complemented by stickers alluding to Rock in Rio applied to the bodywork, in addition to the festival logo on the rear columns. Rearview mirrors and door handles are finished in glossy black. The model also incorporates the so-called Light Bar, an LED light strip integrated into the front grille. The equipment is normally reserved for the most expensive versions of the T-Cross and now integrates this special configuration.
In the cabin, the interior ceiling received a darkened finish, while the seats have specific coverings, blue stitching and red details. The Rock in Rio logo also appears on the passenger side panel. The audio system consists of six standard speakers. The proposal is to bring the vehicle closer to the musical universe associated with the festival, a central element of the partnership between the manufacturer and the event.

In the 200 TSI version, the T-Cross has a 1.0 turbo engine with 128 hp and a six-speed automatic transmission. The car comes with automatic emergency braking, adaptive speed and distance control, six airbags and LED headlights.
The connection between Volkswagen and Rock in Rio is not recent. The 2026 edition represents the manufacturer's sixth participation as an official sponsor of the festival held in Brazil. Among the cars that have had special editions are Gol and Fox (2011), as well as Saveiro and Polo Track.
