The Virada Cultural program added another attraction for cinema fans: a 24-hour screening of short films in Super 8.

The cinematic format was created by Kodex in 1965 and became popular among amateur filmmakers and home recordings before the invention of videotape.

Among the highlights are the works of critic Jairo Ferreira, "O Guri e Os Guris" (1973) and "Antes Que Eu Me Esqueça" (1977). The session also features short poems in films from the production company Cinediário, formed by Priscyla Bettim and Renato Coelho.

The screening of the short films will be free and will take place at Praça do Patriarca, in the Historic Center of São Paulo, with a large screen and 60 seats for the public, starting on Saturday, May 23rd, and lasting 24 hours.

Super 8 short films selected for programming at Praça do Patriarca:

- "Rua Julieta Palhares, 295", by Renato Coelho
