Virada Cultural 2026 has the highest number of searches in five years

Virada Cultural 2026 brought together a large audience on the streets of the city of São Paulo last weekend. With the theme "The Festival of Festivals", the event, which reached its 21st edition, featured great attractions on stages in the city center and also on the outskirts.

Names like Luísa Sonza, Titãs, Péricles, Seu Jorge and Marina Sena guaranteed a significant number of fans, even amid the rain and low temperatures that the capital of São Paulo recorded over two days.

According to a survey carried out by Fundação Getulio Vargas (FGV) and published by the Municipal Secretariat of Culture and Creative Economy, Virada Cultural brought together 4.8 million people and generated R$1.1 billion in the city's economy.

According to Google Trends, searches for the event were the highest in the last five years. The information, consolidated by CNN Brasil, shows that the most recent edition achieved a higher number of searches than in previous years.

The numbers surpassed the 2025 edition, already considered a success, and more than doubled compared to 2024.

Other terms related to the free event were also searched by the public on the weekend in which the attractions took place.

The names of the stages and their locations were some of the terms that generated the most doubt and were answered by Google.

"Palco Republica Virada Cultural 2026", "Virada Cultural Eliseu de Almeida 2026", "Virada Cultural Hoje", "Virada Cultural Domingo" and "Palco São João Virada Cultural" were the five most searched terms this year.

Extensive programming
The most recent edition of the event featured many shows on stages set up by City Hall throughout the city. Furthermore, DJs also set the tone for the proposal adopted by the production this year.

Soirees, plays, film screenings and sensory experiences have taken over museums, squares and other facilities, with the aim of meeting the interests of the city's residents and visitors.
