Vini Jr. praises Neymar after Brazil's defeat: "He's our idol"
The Brazilian team beat Panama 6-2 on Sunday night (31), at Maracanã, in a friendly preparatory match for the 2026 World Cup. After the match, Vini Jr. spoke about Neymar's presence in the squad that will be in the competition.
"Ney is our idol. Everyone is very happy to be able to play with him. It's a very young generation where Neymar was the biggest idol of them all. Being able to share everyday life again with Ney is very good, he fought hard to be able to play with us again, he did everything. He returned to play in Brazil with our people so he could be closer to all of them and together with him and everyone in the squad we are going to have an excellent World Cup to change our history", said the striker 25 years old.
Regarding the match, Vini approved the performance of the "two teams" used by Carlo Ancelotti. The Italian coach placed the starting team in the first half and made 10 changes at halftime.
"I believe it was a good game for our preparation. There were two teams, one in the first half and another in the second, but with the same objective. I believe that the two teams that entered did very well. We were able to put what Mister asked into practice," he said.
"Winning at home, winning at Maracanã, being able to come back here after a long time without playing, being able to score again, it's always very special to play alongside our fans, my family, and it's an energy and a positive plus for the World Cup", he concluded.
