Video: woman falls while going down trail in Ouro Preto; rescue took 11 hours

A woman was rescued by the Military Fire Department after suffering a fall while descending a trail last Saturday (30). It was found approximately 1 km away from Pico do Itacolomi, in the Ouro Preto region, in Minas Gerais (MG).

The rescue was triggered at 3 pm, but it was only completed in the early hours of this Sunday (31), around 2:20 am. The searches lasted around 11 hours.

The location where the victim - a 43-year-old woman - was located was difficult to reach. A video recorded by Fire Department teams and obtained by CNN Brasil shows the location of the incident. See:

She has a suspected dislocation in her left ankle and pain throughout her left lower limb, making it impossible to walk. Firefighters informed that medical procedures, including immobilization of the affected limb, were carried out at the scene.

In addition, they also provided thermal protection with an aluminized blanket to prevent hypothermia and immobilized the victim on a rigid board. It was reported that the woman was placed on a sked-type stretcher for transport.

According to the Firefighters team, even though the route to get the victim to the vehicle was steep and steep, it was carried out with caution and completed successfully. The team that carried out the rescue also recorded this moment. Watch the video:

After rescue, the victim was conscious and oriented. She was later referred for medical care at Santa Casa de Misericórdia in Ouro Preto.
