Video: trailer drags car at Dutra in São José dos Campos

A trailer collided and dragged a car for several meters on Wednesday night (1st). According to the Federal Highway Police (PRF), the case occurred at Km 145 of Rodovia Presidente Dutra, towards São Paulo, in São José dos Campos.

On that occasion, a Honda Civic, driven by a lady, was stuck to the front of the vehicle and was dragged for kilometers until it became detached. A video of the moment was captured and went viral on social media. See below:

After the accident, the truck driver left the scene without waiting and providing clarification to the PRF. No casualties were reported.

Approach
Still on Wednesday night, at Km 117 of Dutra in Taubaté, the police team located the same trailer and approached the driver, who reported that he was not involved in the accident in the video.

The driver informed the PRF that he only took over driving the truck at night, around 8pm, and that he became aware of what happened through the news.

Some documents and records located would point to another driver as responsible for driving the vehicle at the time of the accident.

The vehicle and the driver who was driving it at the time of the inspection were presented to the Taubaté Sectional Police Station to record the incident.

The Civil Police carried out an examination of the truck, which showed traces compatible with the accident that occurred on Rodovia Presidente Dutra. The documents and information presented were attached to the police report.

Considering the elements collected, the authority registered the incident and forwarded the procedure to the police unit to investigate the facts.

According to the SSP (Public Security Secretariat) of São Paulo, to date, there have been no reports of incidents.
