Video shows rush after shooting at São Bento Metro station in SP
A video from a security camera recorded the moment when pedestrians hear gunshots near the entrance to the São Bento station, on Metro Line 1-Blue, and run to protect themselves. The case happened in the central region of São Paulo, in the early afternoon of this Saturday (30).
In total, five people were injured during the shooting. According to the Civil Police, the incident began during an attempted robbery against a civil police officer who was off duty.
The images show the despair of the people who were passing by at the time of the shooting. Some witnesses ran into stores to protect themselves, while traders closed their doors in response to the situation. Watch the video:

CNN Brasil found that the police officer was approached by three suspects and reacted to the criminal action, starting the armed confrontation.
Understand the case
One of the suspects was arrested at the scene and arrested red-handed, while the other two managed to escape through the station premises and are still being sought.
According to the Fire Department, a 30-year-old man was shot in the abdomen and left thigh, in addition to suffering fractures to his left arm, and was taken to the Santa Casa emergency room.
His son, a child, was also hit in the shooting and rescued by the police. According to the Civil Police, father and son received immediate care, are doing well and are not at risk to their lives.

Of the other three victims of the confrontation, two were rescued by Metrô agents and the fifth was transported by a Fire Department vehicle. There are still no updates on their health status.

Line 1-Blue ran at a reduced speed, but operations have now returned to normal.
In a note, Metrô reported that security agents worked in support of the PM (Military Police) and that a report that a fleeing individual had accessed the tracks forced the temporary stoppage of train circulation on the stretch for inspection. However, after searches, the presence of the attacker on the road was not confirmed.
The case was registered in the 8th Police District. CNN requested a note from the SSP (Secretariat of Public Security) and is awaiting a response.
