Video shows moment when building in Lebanon is hit by Israeli attack
Images taken by witnesses this Thursday (28) captured the moment of an Israeli attack against an alleged Hezbollah infrastructure in the city of Tyre, in southern Lebanon.
The video shows a large explosion behind a building, sending a fireball into the sky before dense columns of smoke rose to form a mushroom cloud.
The Reuters news agency confirmed the location based on the layout of streets, buildings and trees, which corresponded to archival and satellite images. Additional videos show smoke rising from the same location.
The date of the images was verified through a statement from the Israel Defense Forces on the attack in Tyre. The Israeli Army also stated, on Thursday morning, that it began attacking Hezbollah infrastructure in southern Lebanon, in the Tire region.
Earlier, Israeli military spokesman Avichay Adraee had warned of attacks on several sites in Tyre.
On Wednesday (27), the Israeli Army declared a new strip of southern Lebanon a combat zone and informed that residents of the area should move north, warning that it would act "with great force" against the Lebanese armed group Hezbollah in the region.
The military statement, published on X, indicated a possible new escalation after more than 120 attacks carried out on Tuesday (26) hit southern and eastern Lebanon, despite a ceasefire announced on April 16.
