Kuwaiti authorities said the explosion was caused by an Iranian drone attack. Flights were suspended and resumed hours later, according to the country's civil aviation authority.
On the other hand, Iranian state media stated that Iran did not target Kuwait's airport. The Revolutionary Guard said the explosion was caused by United States interceptor missiles that did not reach their targets.
The United States Armed Forces said that the Iranian version is false and that Tehran attacked the airport deliberately.
