Video: New 4.6 magnitude earthquake in Venezuela scares rescuers

An earthquake of magnitude 4.6, with an epicenter at a depth of 10 km, struck north of the Venezuelan capital, Caracas, this Monday morning (29), according to the US Geological Survey.

Rescuers who were on the street felt the tremors as they worked.

There were no reports of damage from the aftershock, National Assembly President Jorge Rodriguez said on social media.

Rescue teams were seen running, but then continued their fourth day of uninterrupted work in areas affected by last week's strong earthquakes in Venezuela.

Rescue efforts have been especially focused on La Guaira, the hardest-hit state in a country long mired in a deep political and economic crisis.

The two earthquakes on Wednesday (24) left more than 1,700 people dead.
