Video: Group arrested for theft of weight-loss pens in DF

The PCDF (Civil Police of the Federal District) carried out, on the morning of this Tuesday (9), an operation to arrest members of a group investigated for thefts from businesses, mainly pharmacies, to steal weight-loss pens and other high-value medicines.

The operation, carried out through Corpatri (Coordination for the Repression of Property Crimes), served six arrest warrants. In total, arrest warrants were issued against seven members.

According to the investigation, at least 19 incidents related to the group have been identified so far. Security camera footage captured some of the thefts:

The structure was organized through the division of functions and actions carried out mainly during the early hours of the morning. Criminals broke into and invaded establishments, quickly escaping with the medicines.

The group's objective was the theft of medicines with high demand and resale value, such as weight-loss pens, as well as insulin, antibiotics and dermocosmetics from international brands.

Investigations are ongoing to identify possible recipients of the stolen products.
