Video: Camera captures moment when attack destroys gym in Ukraine

Images from security cameras recorded the moment an attack hit a gym in Zaporizhzhia, Ukraine, this Thursday (2), while people were swimming in the local pool.

It is possible to see the moment when a large cloud of dust forms, just as people were swimming in the affected area.

Reuters was able to verify the location based on the design of the pool and images of the building and gym after the attack, which matched archival records and satellite images.

The date was confirmed by the time stamp on the images, and the regional governor reported that the damage was caused by an attack that occurred on July 2.

No previous records published online before this Thursday were found.

Russian drone attacks have intensified recently, with Ukrainian authorities in the frontline regions of Zaporizhzhia, Sumy, Kharkiv and Dnipropetrovsk reporting almost daily attacks.

In the early hours of Thursday, Russia also launched hundreds of drones and dozens of missiles against the Ukrainian capital, Kiev, killing at least 25 people, injuring many others and damaging around 130 buildings, in the deadliest attack on the capital this year.
