After the game between South Korea and the Czech Republic that ended 2-1 for the South Koreans in the early hours of this Friday (12), fans from Mexico were seen dancing and singing the K-pop hit "Gangnam Style", by the artist Psy.

The match was the second on the first day of the World Cup and took place at the Akron Stadium, in Guadalajara, Mexico.
Earlier, the Mexican team welcomed South Africa to open the event at the Azteca Stadium, in Mexico City.
The South Korean hit
The song "Gangnam Style" was released in 2012 and is considered K-Pop's first global hit. Published on July 15, it was the first YouTube video to surpass one billion views.
The success led singer Psy to meetings with Madonna and Barack Obama. Additionally, the rapper led a "flash mob" to a crowd in front of the Eiffel Tower.
The song not only transformed Psy's career, but also changed the industry by demonstrating that an artist who doesn't use a dominant language like English can reach international audiences through the internet.
It also changed the way charts were compiled and led Billboard to take into account the number of views on YouTube and plays on streaming platforms.
Psy's innovative role was recognized by some of the biggest names in K-pop, who are now accumulating international fame.
"He is someone I'm always grateful to," said Suga, a member of the group BTS, in a 2022 video. "With 'Gangnam Style', he paved the way for K-pop in the United States."
