Veritá: Senate race for SP has a technical tie between 5 candidates

Five candidates appear technically tied in the dispute for the two Senate seats in São Paulo, according to a Veritá survey released on Monday (6).

State deputies André do Prado (PL) and Guilherme Derrite (PP), former ministers Simone Tebet (MDB) and Marina Silva (Rede) and federal deputy Delegado Palumbo (Podemos) are tied at the head of the dispute, considering the margin of error of 2.5 percentage points.

In this year's elections, voters in São Paulo will choose two senators, as two thirds of the seats in the House will be renewed. Por isso, cada entrevistado citou dois candidatos.

In the first scenario, André do Prado appears with 27% of voting intentions, followed by Guilherme Derrite, with 26%; Marina Silva, with 25.6%; Delegate Palumbo, with 24.7%; and Simone Tebet, with 24.5%.

Following, federal deputy Ricardo Salles (Novo), with 8.8%, and Paulinho da Força (Solidariedade), with 2.2%.

Among those interviewed, 22.5% said they intended to vote blank, null or for no candidate, while 38.7% were unable to answer.

In the second scenario, André do Prado registers 29.2% of voting intentions, Guilherme Derrite, 28.3%, remaining technically tied. Next comes Simone Tebet, with 24.4%; former minister Márcio França (PSB), with 17.1%; Ricardo Salles, with 11.2%; businessman Geraldo Rufino (Podemos), with 4.4%; and Paulinho da Força, with 2.4%.

In this scenario, 51% of those interviewed were unable to answer, while 31.9% stated that they intended to vote blank, null or for no candidate.

Methodology
The survey interviewed 2,000 voters in the state of São Paulo between the 1st and 5th of July. The margin of error is 2.5 percentage points, plus or minus, with a 95% confidence level.

The survey was carried out with the institute's own resources and is registered with the Superior Electoral Court (TSE) under protocols SP-09023/2026.
