Vera Fischer reveals knee surgery and cites risk of losing mobility
Actress Vera Fischer, 74, revealed that she underwent knee surgery a few months ago. Last Thursday (2), the artist shared a video explaining the procedure known as total arthroplasty, talked about the recovery process and took the opportunity to celebrate her return to work after the intervention that consists of replacing worn joint surfaces with prostheses.
"I recently underwent total knee arthroplasty. It was an important decision, taken calmly, surrounded by an extraordinary medical team and a lot of love. I didn't tell you before because I needed to live this moment calmly, respecting my time and focusing all my energy on recovery", she explained.
Also in the caption of the publication, the actress said that her knee carried a lifetime of stories, danced, faced hours of recording, in addition to following decades of work. "He was with me at home every step of my journey. And, as happens with all of us, at some point the body asks for care", he continued.
"I want to say one thing to anyone who is facing any challenge: never underestimate the strength that exists within you. The real Wonder Woman is not the one who never falls. She is the one who finds the courage to get up, as many times as necessary. Thank you for all the messages, for the love and support. I'm coming back, one step at a time", she thanked.
In the video, Fischer detailed the recovery process. "It was a difficult few weeks, a lot of physiotherapy. At first, it was difficult to even get out of bed. I needed to have a lot of patience, of course me. But these are things that life teaches us, that we are stronger than we imagine."
