Valentine's Day: classic romance films will be re-screened in cinemas

Several Brazilian cinemas will host special screenings of romantic classics next Friday (12), as a way to celebrate Valentine's Day.

Entitled "Valentine's Day Festival", the action, organized by Universal Pictures, will bring exclusive re-screenings of "A Place Called Notting Hill" (1999) and "Love Doesn't Take a Vacation" (2006), considered great international rom-cons. To access the schedule, fans of the films should check the available times on the official websites of the cinema chains.

Starring Julia Roberts and Hugh Grant, the first feature film tells the love story of William Thacker, an unsuccessful bookstore owner from Notting Hill, whose life is transformed when he meets Anna Scott, the most beloved actress of the moment, a character based on Grace Kelly and Audrey Hepburn.

In "Love Doesn't Take a Vacation", the audience follows two unexpected romances simultaneously. In the production, Cameron Diaz and Kate Winslet play Amanda Woods and Iris, two women with love problems, who meet on the internet and exchange homes during the holidays.

Shortly after arriving at their new destinations, they encounter new loves, which are shared by Jack Black and Jude Law. According to the production, screenwriter Nancy Meyers was inspired by "Home Exchange", a real website that promotes the experience of exchanging homes.

For those who prefer to enjoy the experience at home, the titles are available on Amazon Prime and Netflix, respectively. On Valentine's Day, streaming platforms should also have sections that include other romantic comedies.
