Valdemar admits that Michelle may withdraw from the Senate race

The national president of the PL, Valdemar Costa Neto, says he feels that Michelle Bolsonaro does not want to participate in the campaign of senator Flávio Bolsonaro (RJ), the party's pre-candidate for president of the Republic. The statements took place during an interview with Rádio Gaúcha this Thursday (2).

In addition, Valdemar detailed the conversation he had with Michelle last Tuesday (30), when the former first lady announced that she would leave command of PL Mulher: "She told me that she wanted to leave the presidency [of the women's wing] of the party, there's nothing I can do, that she might not be a candidate for senator."

"The situation has already been resolved. Flávio is moving forward with the campaign. Michelle decided to leave the presidency [of the women's wing] of the party and we are getting on with our lives. It is a great miss that she will do to us, because she has a great charisma, but she decided to leave", said Valdemar.

The departure of PL Mulher's leadership comes after a public conflict between the former first lady and Flávio. Last week, Michelle published a video claiming to have been "stabbed" last year and exposing friction with Jair Bolsonaro's (PL) eldest son.

After publication, the senator apologized to the former first lady.

In this Thursday's interview, the national president of the PL criticized the fact that Michelle had shared information from a video published by former governor of Rio de Janeiro Anthony Garotinho. The recordings would suggest that Flávio had participated in parties with former banker Daniel Vorcaro.

"We should only say things we are sure of. As we are not sure, it was a comrade with no credibility who spoke and who talks nonsense on the radio every day, she shouldn't have considered it. We can't do that. We can't transmit news if you're not sure if it's true or not", he said.

Valdemar also reaffirmed that he was certain that no more information would appear linking Flávio Bolsonaro to Daniel Vorcaro.

Michelle's departure from PL Mulher
Former first lady Michelle Bolsonaro warned Valdemar Costa Neto that she will leave the presidency of PL Mulher.

Michelle met with Valdemar on Tuesday afternoon, when she informed the PL leader about her departure from the post she had held since the beginning of 2023.

The reason cited by Michelle is the desire to dedicate herself exclusively to the care of her husband, former president Jair Bolsonaro (PL), who is under house arrest after being convicted by the STF (Supreme Federal Court).
