Pakistan announces peace agreement in the war between the United States and Iran
The United States and Iran have already signed the agreement to end the war in the Middle East, according to a US government source to the Reuters news agency.

The signing took place electronically this Monday (15), US Vice President J.D. Vance said to the North American network NBC News.
According to According to Reuters, the document was signed by US President Donald Trump, J.D. Vance, and the President of Iran's Parliament, Mohammed Qalibaf, leader of the Iranian delegation of negotiators and a central figure in the country's government. The Trump administration understands that Qalibaf is authorized by the Iranian supreme leader, Mojtaba Khamenei, to negotiate and sign the document on his behalf.
A ceremony for the in-person signing of the agreement was scheduled for this Friday (19) in Geneva, Switzerland. Trump stated that Vance will go to the European country to sign the document in person. It is not yet known, however, which other US and Iranian officials will attend the event.
According to Reuters, the peace agreement provides for the immediate opening of the Strait of Hormuz and the end of the US maritime blockade of Iran (read more below). According to the US and Iran, technical discussions to deepen the treaty between the two countries will begin later this week. The final text of the document will be released after signing on Friday, according to Trump.
The treaty between the US and Iran also provides for the relief of sanctions and the unfreezing of Tehran's assets, but this has not yet occurred. According to Reuters, the US is ready to do this, but will wait to see the Iranian stance. Trump said he will not alleviate anything for Iran "until they do what they have to do."
Trump's speech makes it clear that distrust between Washington and Tehran remains despite the signing of the agreement. The Iranian Foreign Ministry said on Monday that the country still harbors "deep mistrust" towards the US.

The President of the United States, Donald Trump, stated in an interview with the newspaper "The New York Times" that the agreement signed between the US and Iran provides that there will be no toll charges in the Strait of Hormuz. However, Iran said this Monday (15) that it will start charging a "fee for service" on ships that cross the sea route.
➡ The agreement was announced on Sunday (14) after more than three months of war, and will be signed on Friday (19), in a ceremony in Geneva, Switzerland, according to Pakistan, which mediated in the negotiations.
In an interview with the "New York Times" shortly after the announcement, Trump said that the agreement provides for the permanent exemption from any toll in Hormuz, as Iran had suggested during the conflict.
This Monday, however, the Iranian Foreign Ministry announced that there will be "maritime service fees."
"We have always stated that we do not intend to charge transit fees, but fees will be charged for navigation services, environmental protection, ship insurance and other necessary services," said Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmaeil Baqaei.
Iran, whose territory borders most of the Strait of Hormuz, in practice controls transit through the canal, where ships transporting around 20% of the oil and gas consumed in the world circulate.
The North American government had not yet commented on the rate announced by Iran until the last update of this report.

Trump says he saved Israel 'from nuclear attack'
In the interview with the "New York Times", Trump also stated that the presidents of China, Xi Jinping, and Russia, Vladimir Putin, helped resolve the peace agreement with Iran.
He thanked the leaders of both countries, but criticized Israel's Prime Minister, Benjamin Netanyahu.
Trump stated that, "despite the Israeli Prime Minister's objections to the agreement, I saved Israel from nuclear destruction" - the American has shown signs of irritation with Netanayhu because of Israel's attacks on Lebanon and said that the two even got into a heated discussion on the phone last week.
The American president also said that, if Iran did not sign an agreement, it would become a kind of "guardian of the Middle East", capturing 20% of revenue generated in the region.
