Belgium achieves a spectacular turnaround and eliminates Senegal

The three World Cup host countries are guaranteed the round of 16. After Canada and Mexico, it was the United States' turn to confirm their qualification with a 2-0 victory over Bosnia. The match featured a trio of Brazilian referees, who had a lot of work throughout the 90 minutes.
The North Americans' opponent in the next phase will be Belgium. In one of the most exciting knockout games so far, the Belgians beat Senegal 3-2, coming from behind. The African team took a 2-0 lead and maintained the lead until the 41st minute of the second half, but Belgium reacted and turned the score around. The qualifying goal came in stoppage time, from a penalty kick scored after a VAR review.
England also confirmed their presence in the round of 16, but had to look for a comeback against the Democratic Republic of Congo. The 2-1 victory was highlighted by Harry Kane, who scored once again and surpassed Pelé in the list of top scorers in the history of World Cups.
