US bombs Strait of Hormuz region after Trump accuses Iran of violating ceasefire

The US carried out bombings in the Strait of Hormuz region this Friday (26).
According to the Central Command of the US Armed Forces, American aircraft attacked storage sites for Iranian missiles and drones, as well as radar equipment on the southern coast of country.
The action takes place hours after the President of the United States, Donald Trump, accused Iran of attacking ships crossing the Strait of Hormuz.

According to him, the Iranian regime launched at least 4 attack drones against vessels, one of which hit a cargo ship and the other 3 were shot down by American forces.

Trump stated that this was a "Foolish violation" of the ceasefire agreement between the two countries.
"The Islamic Republic of Iran fired at least four attack drones at ships crossing the Strait of Hormuz. One of the drones hit the upper deck of a large and very strong cargo ship. There was damage, but the ship was able to continue on its way. We shot down three other drones. Obviously, this is a foolish violation of our ceasefire agreement," Trump posted on his network social.
UN operation suspended
On Thursday (25), the UN maritime agency suspended an operation to remove hundreds of ships from the Strait of Hormuz after a vessel was attacked in the Gulf of Oman.
The British maritime security company UKMTO confirmed that a container ship was hit by a projectile while trying to cross the strait, about 13.89km from the port of Dahit, in Oman.
"I was informed today that an attack against a vessel that had crossed the Strait of Hormuz. This vessel was not included in the agency's evacuation framework," said Arsenio Dominguez, secretary-general of the International Maritime Organization (IMO), in a statement.
He added that the decision to suspend the initiative was taken to "reconfirm whether the necessary security guarantees remain in force."
The operation, which began last Tuesday (23), allowed ships and their crews to leave the Gulf for free. two routes: one via Iranian waters and the other via Omani waters, under United States supervision. According to preliminary data from the IMO, around 57 ships with approximately 1,100 crew members had crossed the Strait of Hormuz from Tuesday until this Thursday.
The authorities have not yet confirmed who was responsible for the attacks or the severity of the damage.
Iran does not guarantee the safety of ships
The Persian Gulf Strait Authority, created by Iran to manage the Strait of Hormuz, also stated on Thursday that vessels traveling outside the established routes will not have a guarantee of safe passage.
The consequences arising from passage through unauthorized routes will be the responsibility of the owner, operator and commander of the vessel", said the entity on X (formerly Twitter).
