USA attacks vessel in the Pacific Ocean and kills 1 person
The United States of America (USA) confirmed a new attack on a vessel transiting the Pacific Ocean this Tuesday (26). According to the Southern Command of the American army, one man died in the attack. See the action in the video above.
The US Southern Command (Southcom), responsible for American military operations in Latin America, stated on social media that "it confirmed that the vessel was transiting known drug trafficking routes in the Caribbean and was involved in drug trafficking operations."
During the action, two other occupants of the vessel survived. Then, US Southern Command immediately notified the US Coast Guard to activate the Search and Rescue system for survivors. No American military forces were injured.
The American government claims to be at war against what it calls "narco-terrorists" in the region. To date, however, it has not presented public evidence linking the attacked vessels to drug trafficking.
The attacks have been occurring since the beginning of September and have killed at least 194 people, according to information from the Associated Press (AP). The military did not present evidence that any of the vessels were transporting drugs.
