University students are caught with 800 weight-loss medicines on the border of PR

The Federal Revenue arrested, this Monday (25), two medical students who tried to enter Brazil with 800 ampoules of weight-loss medicines at the Customs on the Ponte Internacional da Amizade.

The young people are Brazilian and attend college in Paraguay. One of the suspects, the man hid the boxes under his shirt, and the other suspect hid them in a coat stored inside a bag.

According to the IRS, the university students were in a Paraguayan taxi and were trying to cross the Paraguayan border with Brazil with 200 boxes of weight-loss medicines, containing four ampoules each.

The medication shipment was valued at R$150 thousand.

The suspects told the police that the merchandise would be delivered to a man who was waiting for them in a supermarket parking lot on the banks of BR-277.

The Paraguayan taxi driver who was carrying the suspects was released after providing clarification.

The university students were arrested in the act and taken to the Federal Police Station for legal proceedings.
