United States x Paraguay: lineups and where to watch the 2026 World Cup

The United States team makes its debut in the 2026 World Cup this Friday (12), against Paraguay, at 10pm (Brasília time), at the Los Angeles Stadium, in Inglewood, California. The match counts for the first round of Group D.

One of the host countries of the competition, the United States enters the field one day after Mexico, another host, won 2-0 over South Africa in the opening of the tournament. The American team relies on the support of its fans and has striker Christian Pulisic as its main technical reference.

Before the ball rolls, the stadium hosts the opening ceremony of the World Cup in the United States, scheduled for 8:30 pm (Brasília time), with attractions such as Katy Perry, Future, Lisa, Rema, Tyla and Brazilian Anitta.

American President Donald Trump will not be present at the team's debut. The government delegation will be led by Secretary of State, Marco Rubio.

On the other hand, Paraguay returns to a World Cup after 16 years. The team's last appearance was in 2010, in South Africa, when they reached the quarter-finals - their best campaign in the tournament's history. Defender Gustavo Gómez leads the defense, and midfielder Miguel Almirón is one of the main names in the squad.
