Union denounces alleged perks of Deolane Bezerra in SP prison
The Union of Penal Police Officers of the State of São Paulo (Sinppenal) reported, last Friday (22), to the General Directorate of the Penal Police alleged perks that had been offered to the influencer and lawyer Deolane Bezerra at the Santana Women's Penitentiary, in the north of São Paulo.
Deolane stayed in the unit after being arrested on suspicion of involvement in a money laundering scheme linked to the PCC (Primeiro Comando da Capital). She is currently in custody at the Tupi Paulista Women's Penitentiary, in the interior of São Paulo.
The representation was made following complaints received by the entity. According to Sinppenal, the room where Deolane was housed is usually intended for inmates awaiting medical appointments, but it would have been prepared exclusively for her. The space had a different bed, private electric shower, as well as exclusive renovation and painting in the accommodation.
The union also says that there was a restriction on the access of criminal police officers to the site, which, according to the entity, would compromise supervision and security at the site. According to the complaint, Deolane was personally received by the unit's director, in a gesture that the union classified as "without legal basis".

According to the complaints, the influencer also received the same meals intended for criminal police officers, while the other inmates consumed food prepared in the prison unit's kitchen. According to the entity, all these benefits are considered incompatible with the penitentiary regime provided for by law.
The union then requested the establishment of an administrative and disciplinary procedure to investigate the irregularities, they are:
- identification of those responsible for the privileges;
- the immediate adoption of measures to cease any unequal treatment and reestablish strict compliance with criminal legislation;
- forwarding a copy of the investigation to the Criminal Police Internal Affairs Office and, if necessary, to the Public Prosecutor's Office for criminal action and external control.
When contacted, the SAP (Secretariat of Penitentiary Administration) informed that Deolane was allocated in accordance with the court order, which recognized her as a lawyer.
"SAP's institutional performance was limited to strict compliance with legal duty and orders from the Judiciary", it said in a note.
CNN Brasil attempted to contact the defense and is awaiting feedback on the matter. The space remains open.

Transfer and staff room
The lawyer was transferred on Friday morning (22) to the Tupi Paulista Women's Penitentiary, in the interior of the state.
Now, she remains in custody in a special cell. The court decision that authorized Deolane's preventive detention had already determined that she would be detained in this General Staff room, a prerogative provided for in the Law Statute for professionals regularly registered with the OAB (Brazilian Bar Association).
The measure guarantees that lawyers detained on a precautionary basis will not be held in common cells before final sentencing. Therefore, the measure does not prevent the person from being arrested and does not change the course of the investigation, it only ensures that custody is differentiated due to the professional prerogatives of the lawyer.
In practice, the environment allocated to Deolane is separated from the common prison population, without internal bars typical of a conventional cell and with conditions compatible with the preservation of legal prerogative.
Despite having the right to a special cell, the Union's complaint goes further and says that she would have received greater benefits, not foreseen in the prerogatives guaranteed by the Lawyers' Statute.

Statement of the investigated
In a statement, Deolane's defense spoke about the influencer's arrest last Thursday night (21). Read in full:
"The technical defense of lawyer Deolane Bezerra Santos comes, with the utmost respect to the institutions of the Justice System and the Democratic Rule of Law, to provide the necessary clarifications about the events that resulted in her preventive arrest on today's date, 21.05.26: initially we emphasize her most absolute innocence, as well as, that the facts will be duly clarified by her, at an opportune moment.
For now and as due compliance, we consider the measures signed against Deolane to be disproportionate and this defense panel will continue to cooperate technically with the Court to demonstrate the legality of its activities as a lawyer that it is, fully trusting in the discernment, reasonableness and impartiality of the Judiciary".
