Negotiations for the creation of a single league in Brazilian football will have Corinthians playing an important role. The club will act as one of the representatives of the Futebol Forte União (FFU) committee responsible for conducting conversations with the CBF and teams that are not part of the bloc.

According to information initially released by UOL, football executive Marcelo Paz will be Timão's representative in this working group. The FFU condominium sees Alvinegro as an important piece in the negotiations, mainly due to the team's positioning within the Brazilian scenario.

Even though it is not part of the Futebol Forte União condominium, it was Corinthians who negotiated the last broadcasting rights contract with the block. The club is seen as a partner of the collective.

Internally, there is an understanding on the part of the FFU that it considers this independent position as a facilitator for Timão's transit with entities and teams outside the bloc, and also with the CBF. The publication also explains that the relationship between President Osmar Stábile and the Brazilian Football Confederation is considered positive.

In addition to defining the commission, the FFU decided to hire an independent lawyer to represent the clubs' interests in the ongoing process at the Administrative Council for Economic Defense (Cade), which investigates possible competition irregularities in the bloc's regulations. Corinthians, in fact, has already expressed concern about the case and, in a document sent to the FFU at the end of June, did not rule out leaving collective negotiations for broadcasting rights.
