The future of defender Lorenzo, one of the highlights of the Corinthians U20 team in 2026, appears to be defined. According to information from Itatiaia, the defender signed a pre-contract with a club in Italy's Serie C and is expected to go directly to the professional squad of the European team after the end of his contract with Timão.
Lorenzo's contract with Corinthians is valid until August 21st and, to date, there has been no agreement for renewal. The player's departure comes after weeks of negotiations between the club and the athlete's representatives.

Central do Timão had previously found out that the renewal talks were expected to gain new developments at the beginning of this month. At the time, the Corinthians board was negotiating with the defender's staff in search of an agreement to stay, but there were still differences that prevented a positive outcome.
A starter for much of the season, Lorenzo played 17 matches for the Under-20s in 2026, scoring two goals and providing one assist. In his most recent commitments, however, he began to alternate between the starting team and the bench, while Yago Melo gained more opportunities alongside Iago Machado in defense.
Revealed in Corinthians' youth categories, Lorenzo arrived at the club as a child and began his career at Parque São Jorge at the age of 12. The defender signed his first professional contract in 2023 and, since then, has also participated in training with the main squad during the stints of coaches Vanderlei Luxemburgo and Ramón Díaz.
The defender has a German passport and was already attracting interest from European football teams. In 2024, he completed a training period at Milan, Italy, for approximately three weeks. Furthermore, his name was also on the radar of Sevilla, in Spain.
Throughout his career in the Corinthians youth categories, Lorenzo has played 95 games between the Under-17 and Under-20 teams, with five goals scored. His termination fine for the international market was set at 100 million euros.
Even with the defender's imminent departure, Corinthians remains focused on continuing the season. Classified for the quarter-finals of the Brazilian Under-20 Championship, Timão will face Palmeiras in clashes scheduled for the 8th and 15th of July, in addition to competing in the Campeonato Paulista category before the national knockout stage.
