UK will ban imports of Russian diesel and fuels by 2027

The UK announced on Friday that a total ban on diesel and jet fuel produced in Russia will take place by 2027, as it sets out its timetable for ending a temporary license for Russian petroleum products.

Last month, the United Kingdom announced it would continue to allow imports of diesel and jet fuel refined from Russian crude oil into third countries, postponing a previously announced ban, citing supply problems caused by the war with Iran.

On Friday, the Ministry of Business and Commerce said the temporary license for the gradual implementation of the ban would expire on January 1, 2027.

It also added that the government would continue to review the license every two weeks, with a view to revoking it as quickly as possible.
