A truck driver who transported clothes from Kim Kardashian's Skims brand was sentenced this Monday (18) by a British court to 13 years in prison for hiding almost 10 million dollars (50.6 million reais, at current prices) worth of cocaine in his cargo.
Jakub Jan Konkel, a 40-year-old Polish man, was arrested in September 2025 by customs agents at the port of Harwich, in southeast England, upon arriving by ferry from the Netherlands.

"The cargo was completely legal and neither the exporter nor the importer were involved in trafficking, but a hiding place had been created in the lining of the truck's rear doors," said the UK's National Crime Agency (NCA) in a statement.

Ninety packages were found, each containing a kilo of cocaine, with a total estimated value of around 7.2 million pounds (9.6 million dollars), the NCA said.
Initially, Jakub Jan Konkel denied having knowledge of the presence of drugs in the truck, but ended up pleading guilty to drug trafficking.
The truck driver admitted to having transported the drugs in exchange for 5,000 dollars (about 25 thousand reais).
The defendant was sentenced by a court in Chelmsford (south-east England) to 13 years and six months in prison.
