Two Corinthians athletes play in the Brazilian Under-20 team's defeat to Finland in a friendly

The Brazilian Under-20 Women's Team was beaten by Finland's Under-23s 4 x 1, on the afternoon of this Wednesday (3), in a friendly played at the Dr. Carlos Osório Stadium, in Oliveira de Azeméis, in the District of Aveiro, in Portugal. Corinthians had two representatives on the field: goalkeeper Ana Morganti and striker Dulce Maria.

Star of the team led by coach Camilla Orlando, Ana Morganti started the match in the starting eleven and played during the match. Dulce Maria started on the bench and was used in the complementary stage, replacing Juju Harris.

The Brazilian team went to the field with Ana Morganti; Thay, Bianca, Ana Elisa and Clarinha; Nogueira, Dudinha, Adrielly and Bela Puccinelli; Juju Harris and Tainá. Throughout the match, Camilla Orlando made changes, including the entrances of Dulce Maria, Gio Canali, Carioca, Allyne, Duda and Aninha.

The Finnish team built the result in the first half. Anna-Stina Simonen opened the scoring, followed by Sofia Maatta and Elli Makipelkola, who extended the lead before the opening 30 minutes.

At the break, Brazil managed to close the gap with Gio Canali, but Finland found the net again in the final stretch of the duel and closed the score at 4 x 1.

The friendly is part of the Brazilian team's preparation for the U20 Women's World Cup, scheduled to take place between September 5th and 27th, in Poland.

The Brazilian team will still have two more commitments during the training period in Portugal. The next challenge will be against South Korea, on Saturday (6), at 11 am (Brasília time). Afterwards, Brazil ends the series of friendlies against Portugal, on Tuesday (9), at 5pm (Brasília time), again in the District of Aveiro.

The U20 World Cup will bring together some of the main promises of international women's football. Brazil's best campaign in the competition occurred in the 2006 and 2022 editions, when the Seleção finished in third place.
