Tunisia coach says team is "thirsty for revenge"

Tunisia arrives motivated to seek recovery against Japan this Saturday (20), at the Monterrey Stadium, in a match that will be marked as the thousandth game in the history of the World Cups.

Newly hired French coach Hervé Renard said this Friday (19) that the team is "thirsty for revenge" after the 5-1 defeat to Sweden in the tournament's debut.

The setback led to the dismissal of then coach Sabri Lamouchi, who was hastily replaced by Renard, who will have the mission of regaining the confidence of a shaken squad.

In a press conference, the commander said that he has been working on the team's fundamentals since taking office and stressed that he is not a "magician", indicating that the reconstruction will require time.

The task, however, will not be simple. The opponent will be Japan, the four-time Asian champion, who showed strength in the first round by seeking a draw twice and winning 2-2 against the Netherlands.

Recognizing Japanese favoritism, Renard stated that Cape Verde's surprising draw against Spain serves as an inspiration for the Tunisians.

"This gives us hope," declared the coach.
