Donald Trump will not attend the opening of the World Cup in the United States. The information was officially confirmed by the World Cup organization.
Andrew Giuliani, CEO of the World Cup task force, stated that President Trump will not attend the United States men's national team's opening game against Paraguay, on Friday (12). Marco Rubio, Secretary of State, will attend the match along with the Secretary of Transportation, Sean Duffy, and the Secretary of Homeland Security, Markwayne Mullin.
The expectation that the president could be left out has gained strength in recent days amid the escalation of tensions between the United States and Iran. The international scenario has taken up much of the White House's agenda and fueled doubts about Trump's participation in the event.

The United States is one of the three host countries for the 2026 World Cup, alongside Mexico and Canada. This will be the first World Cup in history to be played by 48 teams and held simultaneously in three nations.
