Advisers to US President Donald Trump celebrated the announcement of an agreement to end the conflict between the US and Iran.

Officials acknowledged that the president wanted an agreement to be reached before meeting European leaders in France for the G7 summit.

Trump wanted to arrive at the G7 summit in a "position of strength" and specifically with a deal to present on the war with Iran, the sources shared.

War was expected to dominate many of the talks scheduled to take place in Évian-les-Bains this week, as rising oil prices due to the closure of the Strait of Hormuz loomed large over the meeting. Trump has sharply criticized almost every leader he will meet in France for their refusal to intervene to help reopen the waterway.

Trump is scheduled to travel to France after the UFC fight at the White House this Sunday (14).

In a post on social media, the Prime Minister of Pakistan, Shehbaz Sharif, informed that the official signing ceremony will take place on Friday (19) in Switzerland.
