In a post on social media, Trump said that "a thousand missiles are ready and loaded" against Iran and that "thousands" of others could be launched next.
"A thousand missiles are ready to fire and aimed at the Islamic Republic of Iran, with thousands of others ready to be launched immediately afterwards, should the Iranian government carry out the threat, made in many corners of the world, to assassinate, or attempt to assassinate, the sitting president of the United States of America, in this case, me", he wrote.
Trump also stated that the orders have already been given and that the US Armed Forces are prepared to "decimate and completely destroy all areas of Iran" for a period of one year, with the possibility of extension.
The president ended the message with the expression "Praise be to Allah".
The publication was made days after supporters of the Iranian government chanted slogans calling for Trump's death during the funeral of Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.
On Thursday (9), the newspaper The Wall Street Journal reported that Israel shared with the United States new intelligence information that, according to Israeli authorities, would indicate a new plan Iranian to kill Trump.
Iran has promised for years to retaliate against Trump for the death of General Qassem Soleimani, commander of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard, killed in an American attack ordered by the then president in January 2020.
American authorities have already announced, on different occasions, accusations related to alleged Iranian plans to assassinate Trump. Iran denies involvement in such conspiracies.
