Trump says the US attacked leader of the criminal group Tren de Aragua
US President Donald Trump said this Friday (12) that the US carried out a lethal attack against Hector Rusthenford Guerrero Flores, also known as Niño Guerrero, leader of the Venezuelan gang Tren de Aragua.
He reportedly died in the action, which Trump implied took place in Venezuela.
Trump also posted a video that would show the attack (see above). If confirmed, this is the first ground attack of his administration on alleged criminals on land in Latin America.

Trump had declared the Tren de Aragua a terrorist organization last year.
"This action was closely coordinated with our friends in Venezuela, with whom we are working very well," said Trump, implying that the action would have taken place on Venezuelan territory. The Pentagon and U.S. Southern Command did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
"On my orders, the United States Southern Command carried out a rapid and lethal kinetic strike to successfully execute Niño Guerrero, the infamous leader of the Tren de Aragua, one of the most bloodthirsty terrorist organizations on the planet," Trump wrote on his social media site, Truth Social.
Over the past year, the Trump administration has ordered attacks on vessels that were allegedly used to deliver drugs to USA in the Caribbean Sea and the Pacific. Part of these, according to the Southern Command, would belong to Tren de Aragua.
In October, Trump even stated that the country was in "armed conflict" with Venezuelan gangs.

"Niño" Guerrero Flores was charged in a New York federal court with extortion conspiracy and other crimes, including supporting terrorists in criminal activities that spanned more than a decade, authorities announced in December.
Trump took a series of extraordinary measures against the gang, including a series of attacks on small vessels that his government accused of smuggling drugs into the United States.
Trump and members of his administration have consistently blamed the Tren de Aragua for the violence and drug trafficking plaguing some American cities.
The president spent months repeating the allegation - debunked by an American intelligence assessment, which has been declassified - that the Tren de Aragua operated under the control of Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro.
The United States extradited Maduro from Venezuela in January so that he could face drug trafficking charges.
