Trump says talks with Anthropic are 'going well'

The President of the United States, Donald Trump, stated this Wednesday (17) that negotiations with the artificial intelligence company Anthropic are "going well."

Trump made the comment to reporters at the G7 summit following a meeting between technology leaders and chiefs, including Anthropic CEO Dario Amodei.

Anthropic is in dispute with the Trump administration over foreign access to its most advanced AI models, Fable 5 and Mythos 5.

On Friday, the company disabled all users' access to these models after Trump ordered Anthropic to block foreigners' access to them.

The meeting with G7 leaders and technology chiefs was the first time Trump had met publicly with Amodei since the order.

The Trump administration has said it has "national security concerns" about Anthropic's most advanced models.

A Trump spokesman declined to provide further details about the conversations with the company. Anthropic spokesperson did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
