The President of the United States, Donald Trump, said this Friday (22) that "no one is more prepared" to preside over the Federal Reserve (Fed, the North American central bank) than Kevin Warsh and that he believes he has many important skills for the position. At Warsh's inauguration ceremony, Trump emphasized that he wants the new president to be "totally" independent.

"Don't look at me, don't look at anyone, just do what you have to do and do a great job", he stressed.

According to the Republican, the US Central Bank was diverted from its main mission during the tenure of Jerome Powell, former president of the institution, but Warsh will restore confidence in the Fed.

Trump stated that economic growth does not mean high inflation and that the country will grow to get out of the debt of Joe Biden's previous government. "We have some debts that we want to resolve; we want to stop inflation, but not stop greatness", he pointed out.

The American president also associated the New York stock exchange records with Warsh's inauguration. "Stock market is rising, it means they like you", he declared.

According to him, Warsh will restrict the Fed's practice of forward guidance.

Trump also said again that Iran wants to make a deal with the US and that companies are returning to the country "thanks to the tariffs".
