They would have eliminated the Middle East, says Trump about Iran
The President of the United States, Donald Trump, stated this Wednesday (17) that Iran would have used a nuclear weapon as soon as it built it, and that the country would eliminate the entire Middle East with the weapon.
"They would eliminate the entire Middle East, including Israel, and if they had a nuclear weapon, they would have used it in a matter of moments after obtaining it," Trump said during a press conference press in France.
The accusation against Iran was one of the main arguments used by the US president in the press conference defending the merits of the war waged together with Israel against Tehran, and praising the peace agreement signed with the Iranian government on Monday which, according to him, "is the beginning of a much larger treaty".
According to Trump, Iran represented an urgent threat at the time the conflict began, and in the current agreement the Iranians agreed "not to seek, buy or produce a nuclear weapon". He added that the government in Tehran "has acted appropriately in recent weeks."
