Trump says he may 'soon' reimpose sanctions on Russian oil

American President Donald Trump said this Tuesday (16) that "soon" the US may re-impose sanctions on Russian oil.
The statement was made to journalists, during a meeting with the president of the United Arab Emirates, Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, at the G7 summit in France.
Trump stated that the United States May now let exemptions related to Russian oil expire, after reaching a deal to end the war with Iran.
"We will soon be able to do that, because the oil is already flowing," he said.
In March, Trump took a controversial step, easing sanctions on Russia, amid the crisis in the Middle East, to avoid a spike in energy prices. At the time, the decision provoked criticism from European allies.

Agreement with Iran
The United States and Iran, which had been at war since the end of February, announced over the weekend that they had reached an agreement to end the conflict.
The announcement does not, however, mean the automatic end of the war. The agreement initially provides for a ceasefire - that is, a truce in the attacks, and not a definitive end to them.
This ceasefire would last while the two parties discuss the key point of the negotiations, which is still open: the future of the Iranian nuclear program. Other issues, such as navigation in the Strait of Hormuz and Iran's financial compensation, are not completely clarified at the moment.
The full agreement will be known on Friday (19), when there will be a ceremony to sign the document in Geneva, Switzerland.
