President Donald Trump said this Friday (22) that he believes the United States economy can grow without causing inflation.

"Economic growth does not mean inflation. In fact, it could be exactly the opposite. But economic growth does not mean inflation," Trump declared at the inauguration ceremony of the new Federal Reserve Chair, Kevin Warsh, at the White House. "You don't need to stop the world because it's going well," he continued.

Kevin Warsh took office this Friday (22) as Fed chair, succeeding Jerome Powell.

Warsh, 56, takes on the four-year role at a time of growing uncertainty regarding US inflation, geopolitical conflicts and volatile financial markets, as well as growing political pressure on the independence of the US central bank.

"I will lead a reform-oriented Federal Reserve, learning from past successes and mistakes, breaking away from static structures and models, and maintaining clear standards of integrity and performance," Warsh highlighted during the ceremony.
