Trump's Secretary of War threatens 'confrontation' with Cuba if island buys weapons from allies
U.S. Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth warned the Cuban government on Wednesday that it may against seeking weapons that could reach American territory or the U.S. naval base at Guantánamo Bay, saying that could lead to a confrontation that Havana would not tolerate.
Hegseth, speaking to U.S. troops during a visit to the base, said he still holds out hope for a positive relationship with Cuba. to types of weapons that could reach this base or American territory," Hegseth said, without specifying what weapons would be needed.
"They would be inviting a type of confrontation that they not only do not want, but cannot tolerate. No country on Earth compares to the capabilities of the United States of America."
