Trump's Secretary of State Rubio says agreement to end the war could come this Monday

US Secretary of State, Marco Rubio, stated that the agreement between Iran, Israel and the United States. can be completed this Monday (25). Rubio also stressed that Israel has the right to defend itself against attacks and that the US would give diplomacy every chance before 'exploring alternatives'.
"We have what I think is something pretty solid on the table in terms of the ability to open the straits," Rubio said.
"Israel always has the right to protect itself if Hezbollah launches or is going to launch missiles against them, Israel has every right to respond to that," he told reporters as he left the Indian capital New Delhi, where he was on an official visit.
"We thought we could have some news last night, maybe today, I wouldn't jump to conclusions from that," Rubio said in New Delhi, referring to the potential agreement.
On Sunday (24), US President Donald Trump stated that the agreement to end the war with Iran has not yet been seen by anyone, nor has it been "fully negotiated."

He again defended that, if the text is signed, it will prevent Tehran from producing nuclear weapons.
"If I make a deal with Iran, it will be a good and adequate one, unlike the one made by [Barack] Obama, who gave Iran large amounts of MONEY and a clear and open path to a nuclear weapon. Our deal is exactly the opposite, but no one has seen it or knows what it is. It is not even fully negotiated yet", he wrote in the publication on social network Truth Social.
The publication signals a new change in the president's tone regarding the negotiations. On Saturday (23), Trump said he thought the agreement was close to being concluded - hours later, he also stated that he would "blow them [the Iranians] into a thousand hells" if the two parties did not reach a consensus by this Sunday.
Today, however, the president said he had instructed US representatives not to be in a rush to negotiate an agreement with Tehran and that time is in the US government's favor. "Negotiations are progressing in an orderly and constructive manner", he published.
Negotiations between Iran and the United States to end the war in the Middle East, which began at the end of February, have been dragging on for weeks. A proposal made by Iran last week was rejected by Washington, which said it considered the terms insufficient.
One of the main American demands is the definitive closure of Iran's nuclear program, which Tehran rejects.

Just this Sunday, the newspaper "New York Times" reported that the two countries had reached a preliminary understanding: Iran would reopen the Strait of Hormuz in exchange for handing over its nuclear arsenal. The information is attributed to an American official close to the negotiations.
The United States has imposed a blockade on Iranian ports since April, after Tehran practically paralyzed traffic through the Strait of Hormuz in response to American and Israeli attacks against Iran, which began on February 28.
Hormuz is a strategic corridor for world oil trade - before the conflict, around 20% of global production passed through there. The temporary closure put pressure on commodity prices around the world.
In this Sunday's post, Trump also refers to the nuclear agreement signed by Barack Obama in 2015. The pact called for limiting the Iranian nuclear program in exchange for the removal of international sanctions.
Critics of the agreement, including Israel, claim that part of the resources released was used by the Iranian regime to finance armed groups in the Middle East.
