Trump envoys will not meet Iranians in Doha, says Qatar

US envoy Steve Witkoff and President Donald Trump's son-in-law Jared Kushner will be in Doha to meet with Qatari mediators, but there will be no high-level meeting between Washington and Tehran, Reuters news agency reported on Tuesday (30), citing Qatari Foreign Ministry spokesman Majed al-Ansari.

The two American representatives arrived in Doha, Reuters continued, citing al-Ansari.

The Qatari official added that the $6 billion in frozen Iranian funds had not been transferred to Tehran and that Doha was coordinating with Oman for the safe passage of ships through the Strait of Hormuz.

He also said the hotline in the waterway meant to prevent conflict has been used in recent days to contain hostilities, according to Reuters.
