Trump says that 'USA will attack Iran very hard' and will take control of the country's oil and gas
The President of the United States, Donald Trump, announced this Thursday (11) that he canceled the wave of attacks on Iran that he had ordered to occur throughout the day. Trump said he decided to cancel it after negotiators reached a consensus on "final points" of the agreement to end the war in the Middle East.

The North American president did not make it clear, however, whether there was also a consensus with Iran. In a publication on his social network Truth Social, where he made the announcement, he only stated that mediators "and others" agreed with the points.
But, in the publication, Trump said that the "transaction" of negotiations has been completed and that the "date and place" of the signing will be announced soon. He also said the talks were taken "to the highest level of Iranian leadership."
"Considering that discussions with the Islamic Republic of Iran have been taken to the highest level of Iranian leadership and approved, I, as President of the United States of America, have canceled the strikes and bombings scheduled against Iran for tonight," Trump declared.
The announcement took place minutes before the official start of the 2026 World Cup, with the opening ceremony in Mexico. The USA is one of three countries that will host the event, alongside Mexico and Canada, and the Iranian team will compete in the championship.
For this reason, the beginning of the competition was marked by tensions due to the recent escalation of the war.
