Trump administration says it deported man convicted of pedophilia in Brazil

The US Department of Homeland Security said this Monday (6) that it had deported a man convicted of pedophilia in Brazil.
Denny Marucci, 55, of Italian nationality, was arrested on June 9 by ICE (American immigration service) agents in Tampa Bay, in Florida. He reportedly fled Brazil while serving a sentence for the rape of a 4-year-old child.
The US does not require a visa for Italian citizens to enter the country. However, they are subject to the same restrictions as any other tourist, such as leaving the country after 90 days.
Marucci, according to local press, was supposed to leave the US in 2023, but settled in Florida.

The American TV channel Newsmax, which followed the ICE operation to arrest him, said that Marucci was taken to a screening center in Louisiana, where he remained until his deportation flight, which departed from an air base in northern Florida.
Images from the report show the Italian boarding with his hands handcuffed and his arms chained to his waist, unlike other deportees.
"We will send him back to Brazil to serve the remainder of his 20-year sentence," said David Grady, ICE's deputy director of field operations, shortly before boarding.
TV states that he was received by Brazilian authorities upon landing. The location and date of the landing have not been revealed.
