Truck with fake shirts from Rio teams and national team is intercepted

Civil police officers from the Civil Police of the State of Rio de Janeiro intercepted a bus carrying a large quantity of counterfeit goods, including around 2,000 shirts from the Brazilian national team and pieces from teams from Rio, such as Vasco, Flamengo and Botafogo.

The action was carried out by agents from the 17th Police Station, with support from the 28th Police Station and the 44th Police Station, near Piraí, in the south of Rio de Janeiro.

According to the police, the vehicle left São Paulo and was destined for illegal markets in Rio de Janeiro. The action was carried out on Tuesday night (9).

The investigations began after intelligence information indicated that the bus was transporting counterfeit clothing from well-known brands, as well as irregular medicines from Paraguay.

Based on the information, the agents carried out strategic measures and managed to locate and intercept the vehicle on the road. The bus was taken to the police station, where all the material was unloaded and seized.

During the inspection, the police found a large quantity of counterfeit clothing, including Rio club uniforms and approximately 2,000 Brazilian national team shirts.

In total, 24 people who were on the bus were taken to the police station and qualified by the agents.

According to the Civil Police, the seized material will be sent for forensic examination. Investigations continue to identify everyone involved in the scheme and determine the origin and destination of the goods.
