Foreigners who want to speed up the interview to obtain B1 and B2 visas, to enter the United States for tourism or business, can pay an extra fee of US$ 750 - the equivalent of R$ 3,900 - from this Wednesday (1st).
According to a determination announced by the US State Department on June 9th, in the American Official Gazette, the news is part of a pilot project, which will be analyzed for the next six months, until December 31st.
By paying the fee, in addition to the standard US$ 185, visa applicants are guaranteed service, at certain stations, within ten business days.
"This service will be an additional premium option to the standard application fee and will be offered only at limited stations and in limited quantities", defined the department. USA

According to the statement, the State Department expects to receive 25,705 applications annually if the project is implemented, which would generate US$ 19.3 million for public coffers.
The waiting time for a visa interview can exceed 12 months in certain embassies and consulates around the world, "which makes it difficult for some applicants to request visas for urgent or last-minute travel", the department acknowledged in the announcement.
Heard in June by the American magazine "Forbes", at the time the Trump administration launched the news, Alan Fyall, associate dean of the Rosen School of Hotel Administration at the University of Central Florida, said that the measure came "too late" to help foreign fans who need a visa to enter the USA for the World Cup.
