The Los Angeles police treat Handy's stepson, Michael Gledhill, aged 44, as the main suspect. According to authorities, Gledhill called police and stated, "I am the son of man. I just killed the man of sin."
Gledhill, who is the son of Handy's girlfriend, was arrested and charged with murder, with bail set at US$2 million. So far, the police have not revealed what motivated the murder.
