Tom Holland recalls alcohol addiction: "I was alone in the hotel room"

Actor Tom Holland, 30, detailed his struggle with alcoholism in a conversation with Robert Pattinson, 40, his partner in the upcoming film "The Odyssey". The actor said that he didn't usually go to parties, but he drank heavily when he was alone.

The subject came up at a press conference about the period film and was covered on sites like People.

Pattinson began the subject by commenting that Holland lived "wilder years" for an acceptable period, "something like 8 years", according to him. The star of "Twilight" (2008) stated that he stretched out his party and adventure phase as long as he could.

"I thought: 'I'm going to stay 22 until I'm 39'. But it's strange. I have the feeling that everyone from his generation (Holland) is very... They've become quite sensible", he assessed.

Tom Holland then explained that he had problems during the most hectic phase of his life. The actor said that his problem was dealing with alcohol consumption in the midst of loneliness.

"I had my phases, but I was never really the type of person who went to nightclubs. I was more the type who stayed alone in the hotel room, emptied the minibar and went to work the next day", he said.

"My version of 'crazy life' was, I would say, not very Hollywood", he continued.

The Spider-Man performer stated in 2023, on Jay Shetty's YouTube channel, that he became a "slave to drinking" and would drink to the limit. "Then you get to that point where you say, 'Wow, I shouldn't have taken that last one'. Then you wake up the next day with a horrible headache," he lamented.
