The 2026 World Cup has begun and there is no shortage of reasons to shout for a goal. However, what cannot be lacking is a voice to celebrate the balls in the net. Vocal injuries are very common on game days, but some tips are important for a quick recovery.

CNN Brasil has separated the main tips on how to heal from pain that can result from the emotion of matches. According to doctor Bruno Borges de Carvalho Barros, simple measures can help with recovery. See some below:

- Drink plenty of water throughout the day;
- Avoid whispering, as it can strain the vocal cords;
- reduce the use of your voice for a few hours;
- Avoid cigarettes and alcoholic beverages;
- Sleep well to allow tissues to recover.

Factors that increase the risk of injuries
It is common for fans to increase the volume of their voices without realizing it, especially in environments such as bars, stands and parties. In these scenarios, vocal effort tends to be even greater.

Factors such as shouting for prolonged periods, consuming excessive alcoholic beverages, smoking, remaining for several hours without hydration and little sleep after games can further increase the risks.

Lozenges and sprays are not a solution
According to the expert, tablets and sprays do not treat vocal injuries and do not help with voice recovery. Therefore, they should not be seen as solutions.

"Many people believe that lozenges solve the problem, but they only temporarily increase saliva production. Recovery depends mainly on hydration and vocal rest", he explains.

If negative symptoms persist, it is recommended to see an otorhinolaryngologist to rule out more important inflammations, nodules, polyps or other changes in the vocal cords.
