Tilapia shipments reach the highest volume of the year, says Cepea

The volume of exports of tilapia and secondary products reached the highest volume of the year, according to a survey by Cepea (Center for Research in Applied Economics) released this Wednesday (10).

Shipments reach the same level as in June 2025, pre-tariff period for the United States, one of the sector's main trading partners, which fears the impacts of a new tariff.

In the domestic market, prices continued to rise in most regions analyzed by Cepea. According to the Study Center, prices are supported by the low supply of protein.

Cepea also noted a downward movement in prices in some markets due to the weakening of demand, especially from slaughterhouses.

The researchers' expectation is that, from the end of May, the supply of the product will gradually increase.
